Hey guys! Short post tonight, because I'm tired and Emma is wanting to go to sleep. Nothing really eventful happened today - well, technically, something eventful happened today just after midnight.
Okay, so remember how my last post ended with "I'm going to go watch some Supernatural"? Yeah, well that didn't happen. I Shattered my laptop screen on the inside. This is how:
I had just closed out of Blogger and had tossed my laptop up on my bed. I then proceeded to remove a pillow rest that I did not want up on my bed, but was having some difficulty. That was when I realized why it was so hard to move: my laptop was laying on part of it. As soon as that realization hit, I see this huge rectangular object sliding off the end of my bed, crashing to the floor with a loud...well, crash.
Cue the first melodramatic breakdown of the semester. So I call my mom up, crying my eyes out, because it's 12:37 at night, they're asleep, and I have to wake them up to say "hey, I just broke my $400 laptop." Thankfully, I was already crying and my mom heard that I was, and didn't seem to care that I had broken it (it wasn't actually a new computer either; we bought it two years ago). Apparently there are worse things that your 18 year old, college going daughter can call you crying about after midnight. My mom told me that her first thought was "Oh crap, it's Hannah calling; she wrecked her car!!!!" and when I said 'mom don't yell at me,' it quickly became "OH &^*% IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR" quickly followed by "oh god please don't tell me she went to a party, got drunk, and was raped."
So yeah, she was pretty relieved to hear that it was just my laptop that had broken. I was still majorly upset over it though, because I would break my laptop the first time I tried watching TV on it in my bed, the night before classes start. Haha, but really, though, we got it taken care of. I actually dodn't have a class today, because labs are cancelled the first week of college, and that was the only class I had. After breakfast with the boys, I ran home to help mom figure out what we were going to do.
Now, I have a nice, brand new laptop, that I will not be taking up to my bed with me, ever. It's really cool! It has Windows 8, which was a little frustrating at first because I'm not used to the interface at all. I'm getting the hang of it though! Um, besides that, I read an Artemis Fowl book (not sure how I like it, to be honest), went to Shirttails practice (just got back from that and took a shower actually), and, oh! I watched some friends play Cards Against Humanity.
I am never doing that again.
Whelp. That's basically my day. Classes officially start tomorrow for me, and I hae a full day of Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and my Engaged Citizen class. I'm really nervous, actually, but hopefully it won't be too tough! I'll let you guys know how it went tomorrow afternoon!!!
