Like no joke, I probably will not be sleeping tonight, even though I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, I only have one class on Tuesdays, which is a Physics lab, however, I got the email that says we aren't having it tomorrow and will start next week. Speaking of schedules, I got my official schedule for today. I'll get to the details during the run through. Hmmm, I don't think there's anything else that I need to mention at this point, so:
After a glorious and heavy sleep in an actual bed and not on a sleeping bag, and almost not waking up to meet Zac for breakfast (I swear that boy is going to kill me making me get up early), I had breakfast. I really wish we didn't have to choose between skim milk and 2% for cereal. Those are just gross. I might just start putting chocolate milk in my cereal I swear... Um, I actually don't know what I did until lunch. OH WAIT. I had to go pick up my schedule and see if anything needed to be tweeked at 10. I asked Kayla if she wanted to come over and help me get my books and she awesomely said yes.
Scheduling turned out to take longer than I thought, because as it turns out, I had to add a class to the spring semester. Which I don't know why I had to mess with it now. But whatever. Anyway, I didn't end up getting into the Art class I wanted, so I had to get a History class. Blech. So, we were looking through and I thought, none of these sound remotely interesting, so I'll just go with this one cuz it's about Japan and I am IN LOVE with Japan and it had already been 15 minutes of KJDFKJDGKJGSDDSKJAKLGFSAFKJAGAKLGFF. When I went over to the next station to get it official, Lo and Behold the lady said, "yeah, I'm not seeing this class listed here. It's not a second semester class." And so I'm sitting there thinking "Dear God, give me the strength to flip this table through the wall I swear to you something is about to get burned down."
So I went back to the guy helping me (who, shockingly, later turned out to be one of my teachers for a class and is just so peppy and adorbz I kid you not) and we fixed the situation in like five minutes. Conclusion to the story, I am now taking a class called Tyranny and Liberty and it is basically a classics class which sounds really interesting and I'm actually pretty excited to take it next semester. Anyway, with that out of the way, Kayla and I proceeded to jaywalk across four lanes of semi heavily traversed roadway and down the street to what is called the Hendrix Village, where the bookstore is located to purchase the insane amount of books I needed for classes.
My soul then proceeded to shatter and waste away into the black void that is created by this act. My college books are as follows: 4 books for chemistry, which had to be bought as new, since their were no used; one used for calculus, one used for chemistry, and four rented for my freshman classes that are only one semester. This totaled up to equal roughly $1002. I almost cried and panicked a bit because I did not know if this would be acceptable or if I actually had that much money. Thankfully I did, thanks to my sweet and wonderful Aunt who is helping pay for my college tuition. She is literally the best, you guys, you don't even know. :')
Hmm, after we carted my 20 pound sacks of books back across the street to my dorm room, Kayla and I decided to go grab lunch at Taco Bueno, which was very bueno, and then she dumped me back here at 12 so I could attend a little meet and greet thing for one of my classes. This is where I discovered that the wonderful person who helped me with my scheduling would be one of my teachers for my Engaged Citizen class. He was apparently a religion professor, which was pretty rad. Our other teacher was head of the Physics department, and I talked to him after class to see if he would be one of my teachers, cuz he was /really/ peppy and that was awesome. Sadly, he wasn't, but he did tell me that he would like for me to come to this Physics Association thing they had on campus. It meets randomly, and will work around my insane schedule, which is great! I really can't wait to see what this is about.
Once that was out of the way, I had literally nothing to do whatsoever until 5:30. So what did I do?
I got on tumblr.
I also got to meet one of Emma's friends who is apparently 21 but does /not/ look like it at all. She was a supernatural dork and it made me soooo happy!!!! We can hardly find anyone on campus who watches SPN because they keep it on the down low or just aren't as enthusiastic about it as we are.... Which sucks because holy crap is that a great show. I'm actually going to try and fit the last three episodes of season four in after I'm done with this!!!! I need to see Jensen Ackles glorious face before I sleep!! ToT Haha, but seriously, back to this. Uhhhh, mom brought me this really cool bookshelf so I could move my printer off my desk and it is seriously awesome. I out my school books on it and I have enough room to go and put some of my actual fun books in it so I'm going to do that tomorrow.
At six, we had this little end of Orientation week thing in the auditorium, where all the trips performed "skits" in a competition. We, of course, went last. We did a song about our trip, set to the tune of Wagon Wheel. Now, really quick, let me tell you a fun fact. Apparently, as a way to signal the end of the major parties at Hendrix, they play Wagon Wheel. I think that was why we went last. Here's the lyrics to it:
Verse: Headed up North to the land of the
rivers
Down where the waters so cold it
gives you shivers
Sneakin’ down the road pray to God we don’t see
flashlights
Canoed down the river in just five
hours.
Only tipped twice, but we really
needed showers
Hopin’ we can find both their pants
toniiggghtt
Chorus: So, rock me river through “Dead
Man’s Curve”
DIDN’T wanna hit rocks, so we had to
swerve
Coommee at me, Hardy!
In the middle of the night, found a
kid named Kane
Got woken up by the fucking
train
Coommee at me, Hardy!
Verse:
Floating by our
campsite, we heard a sneaky sound
HARDY caught red handed, threw our
tents to the ground
OR
LEADERS: Our babies play
the geetar
We sing together now…
Got em with super glue and zip ties
THEY tried to get us back, but we
sent out spies!
Countered their attack ‘till
the guard said
NO MOOORREE!”
Chorus:
Hiding in the trees
water guns in hand
Waiting for Hardy to step on our
land
Coomee at me, Hardy!
We hit em with balloons, they dropped
to the floor,
That’s when we knew, we won the
war
Come at me Hardy!
Ssof ro some reason my alignment is doing something weird and I have no idea how to fix it, but I hope you can't see it. Anyway, needless to say, we won. Which means we geT A PIZZA PARTY!!!!!!!!!! Haha, after that, we had a shirttails meeting where we learned three of the ten dances for our dorm. Oh god I can't believe I thought I could dance you guys.... Anyway, at 11, that ended, so we all walked back to our dorms and I got that done. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some Supernatural to watch.... ;)
